We don’t have to go too far to get down to business at Trattoria La Vigna. This classic Italian trattoria is but a short walk from our Coral Bay villas. And also easily accessible from Kissonerga, Peyia and St. George too. We sit at classic checkered red and white table cloths basking in the glow of its woodburner. I look up from the high-ceilinged dinning hall to the vine (la vigna) growing up and through this local eatery. We are there one evening in late February. So its candlelit coziness warms our cockles.
We start with a sweet sparkling rosé to toast an evening with friends old and new. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Looking through the menu it strikes me as a crowdpleaser with reasonably priced dishes for both young and old. Starters are €4,30 – 11, pizzas €8-12, mains €12-15. There’s also a kids menu with most dishes at €6. I start with the carpaccio al parmigiano (€11) followed by the melanzane alla parmigiana (€11,60), the latter of which is a lovely oozing comfort dish. Yum! We wash it down with a Vasilikon Xinisteri with clean, fruity tones. The conversation flows. It’s a nice, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It does warm, intimate, cozy. And it does it well. While still being light and airy.
Trattoria La Vigna is a good start point for eating out in Coral Bay. Nothing beats a good trattoria for family meals out. For this of you staying in Coral Bay you have the added advantage of having just a short stumble home. Or even moving on down the strip for a few drinks or cocktails. You can easily have a feed for €20-30 per head. And do the kids for under €10. So pretty good value all in all. Combine that with attentive service and a lovely setting and you have a firm holiday favourite. It certainly is with the CVR team!
