Competition terms and conditions

• Entries open on 30 October 2026 at 10:00 Cyprus time.
• Entries close on 31 October 2027 at 23:59 Cyprus time. Posts made after closing are not counted.
• Judging takes place after closing, and winners are announced in November 2027.

This is our first year-round edition. Later editions may run on different dates.

• The entrant must be 18 or over and must post the entry from their own account. The entrant is the person who accepts these terms and who wins any prize.
• Under-18s cannot enter themselves. A parent or legal guardian who meets these terms can enter a photo or video taken by their child, posting it from the parent's or guardian's own account; the parent or guardian is then the entrant.
• You must have stayed, or be booked to stay, at a CVR villa.
• Your entry must be a photo, video or reel taken by you, or by a member of your party with their permission, during a stay at a CVR villa (any season, past or present). It must be posted during the competition period.
• You can enter as many times as you like. More entries give you more chances to be picked, but each entrant can win one prize only (see 10.8).
• CVR employees, officers and their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected with the competition (including our social media and content agency), cannot enter.
• Previous prize winners, and the guests on their prize stay, cannot enter with photos or videos taken on that prize stay.
• We will check that shortlisted entrants really stayed with us. An entry that does not come from a genuine stay is not eligible.

Entry is free. There is no entry fee, and nothing extra to buy to enter. There is only one way to enter: a public post.

To enter you must do all of these

• Post your photo, video or reel publicly on your own account on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X. These are the only platforms on which an entry counts.
• Include our hashtag #CyprusVillaRetreats in your post.
• Tag our account in your post: @cyprusvillaretreats on Instagram and TikTok; on Facebook, our page Cyprus Villa Retreats (@cyprusvillaretreatsCY); on X, @VillaRetreatsCY.
• Keep your post public and online until the winners are announced.

How we find your entry

• We find entries by searching for the hashtag and the tag on each platform. If your post is private, is missing the hashtag or the tag, or has been deleted, we cannot find it and it will not count.
• Instagram and Facebook Stories disappear after 24 hours, so please post to your feed or as a reel. An expired Story cannot be judged.
• Posts on any other platform do not count, even if they are public and use our hashtag.

What does not count

• We cannot accept entries by email, direct message, upload or any other private route. Only a public, tagged post can enter.
• You do not need to follow us, share or repost anything to enter, although we would love you to follow us. If other people appear in your post you are welcome to tag them, but you do not have to.

Rules for every entry

• Keep it family friendly and in line with our values.
• Be sensible and safe when taking photos and videos. Do not break any laws or put yourself or anyone else in harm's way.

By posting your entry with our hashtag and tag you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms, including sections 6 to 9. If you do not accept them, please do not enter.

By entering, you give CVR a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, copy, edit, crop, adapt, combine, publish, display and distribute your entry, in whole or in part, for our marketing and promotion, in any media and on any channel, now known or developed in future. That includes:

• reposting, sharing and embedding your public post on our own channels and website;
• our website and villa pages;
• our social media accounts and reposts;
• emails and newsletters;
• paid and organic advertising, including paid social and display ads;
• printed material, brochures, signage and in-villa displays; and
• press, PR, and travel or listing websites.

We may use your entry with or without your name or social handle. When we repost on social media we will normally tag and credit you. We do not pay a fee for any use, whether or not you win. Your entry stays yours: you keep the copyright and can carry on using it yourself.

If you would like us to stop using your entry in new materials, email [email protected] and we will consider it in good faith. The licence continues for any use we have already made or published, and we cannot recall material that has already been published or printed. This section does not limit your data-protection rights in section 9.

By entering, you promise that:

• the entry is your own original work, or you have full permission to submit it and to give us the permission in section 6;
• nothing in it infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
• it contains nothing unlawful, defamatory, offensive, obscene or otherwise unsuitable; and
• you have the consents described in section 8.

If any of these turns out to be untrue, we may disqualify your entry and take back any prize. You agree to indemnify us against any claim that arises from a breach of these promises.

• If anyone can be recognised in your entry, you confirm that they are happy to appear and for the entry to be used as described in section 6.
• If anyone recognisable is under 18, you confirm that their parent or legal guardian has agreed on their behalf. We will not feature a child in our marketing without that consent.
• If your entry shows recognisable private property other than the CVR villa, you confirm you have the owner's permission to submit it and to give us the permission in section 6.
• We may ask for written proof of these consents, and you agree to provide it promptly.

• The data controller is the promoter named in section 1.
• We collect what we need to run the competition: your public post (your photo or video, your account name and any public details on it), the villa and dates of your stay (which we check against our bookings) and, if you win, the contact details you give us to arrange your stay.
• We use that data to run the competition, check that entries are genuine, contact and verify winners and give prizes. We also use it, with your consent, to feature your entry, name and account name in our marketing as set out in section 6. You give that consent by entering. Where we plan to use your entry in paid advertising or in print, we will first confirm your permission with you in writing (for example by a reply or message) and keep a dated record of it.
• You can withdraw your consent to our use of your name, account name or any recognisable image of you at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will stop using them in new materials and take them down from our own channels where we reasonably can. Withdrawal does not affect use that has already happened.
• Where we send you marketing emails beyond this competition, we rely on your consent or on your existing relationship with us as a past guest, and you can opt out at any time.
• We keep entrants' details only for as long as we need them to run the competition, contact winners and meet our legal and accounting duties, then we delete or anonymise them.
• You have the right to see, correct or ask us to delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

10.1 There are three prizes. Each is one week (seven nights) in a CVR villa for the winner and their party:

• 1st prize: seven nights in a luxury villa. The winner chooses Malibu, Captains or Margarita.
• 2nd prize: seven nights in a premium villa. The winner chooses Christina, Marina or Porto.
• 3rd prize: seven nights in a comfort villa. The winner chooses Acapulco, Anchora or Rio.

10.2 Hot tub, included. Every prize stay includes free use of the villa's hot tub for the whole stay, at no charge to you. Our team prepares and unlocks the hot tub before you arrive, so please tell us when you book that you would like it. Where a villa has more than one hot tub (Captains has two), one hot tub is included, the rear garden hot tub, and any other hot tub is an optional extra at our standard rate.

10.3 Heated pool, an optional extra. A heated pool is not part of any prize. It is available as an optional extra at our standard rate for the villa. It is added to your booking and paid for in the normal way, subject to availability and our standard minimum-night rules for the extra.

10.4 What the prize covers. The villa for seven nights, and the hot tub as set out in 10.2, for a party of up to 6 guests in our smaller prize villas, or up to 8 guests in our larger ones; we confirm the number for the chosen villa when the stay is booked. Larger parties pay a supplement. The prize does not include flights, airport transfers, car hire, food, drink, or any other extra or cost, other than the hot tub.

10.5 When. Prize stays are off-peak only, between 4 November 2027 and 20 March 2028, not 20 December 2027 to 3 January 2028 (both dates included). Stays are subject to availability and must be booked in advance with reasonable notice. A prize not taken within this window expires and cannot be carried over.

10.6 Choosing your villa. The winner chooses from the villas listed for their prize, subject to availability on the dates they want. If none of the three is available, we will offer another villa of the same standard, or other dates within the window.

10.7 Other conditions. Anyone under 21 on the prize stay must be accompanied by an adult family member. Our standard booking terms and conditions (https://www.cyprus-villa-retreats.com/terms-and-conditions), including the damage deposit, apply to the stay. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or swapped for cash, and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.

10.8 Each entrant can win one prize only, however many entries they send; we count entrants (people), not entries. We will award all three prizes as long as at least three different people send eligible entries. If fewer than three people do, each of them wins one prize, awarded in prize order (1st prize, then 2nd), and the remaining prizes are not awarded. We will not withdraw a prize for any other reason, except under section 13 (something outside our reasonable control), and then we will offer a stay of equal or greater value.

• A panel from the CVR team judges the entries. They look at how well an entry captures the villa and the holiday, its creativity and quality, and how well it suits our marketing. The judges' decision is final and we cannot enter into correspondence about it.
• We check that each shortlisted entry follows these terms and comes from a genuine stay.
• We will contact the winners in November 2027 by a message or comment on the platform where they posted, so please keep your messages and notifications open. We will then ask the winner for the contact details we need to arrange the stay. If a winner cannot be reached or does not reply within 14 days, or cannot meet these terms, we may withdraw the prize and award it to another entrant.
• We may publish winners' first names, last initials and account names, and their winning entries, when we announce the results.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, Meta, TikTok or X. By entering, you release those platforms from any responsibility in connection with this competition. Questions about the competition go to us at [email protected], not to the platforms.

• We may change these terms, or pause or cancel the competition, if something outside our reasonable control makes it necessary, and we will take reasonable steps to tell entrants.
• We are not responsible for entries that are lost, late or incomplete, that we cannot find, or for any failure of a social platform, including a platform removing a post or account.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that arises from entering or accepting a prize, except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
• These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. This does not affect any rights you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.
