Acapulco

We were extremely disappointed with this villa. On arrival the villa felt grubby. In the en-suite there was a strange looking stain on floor behind sink, the shower floor has ringed stains on it. The mirror was old and marked with water marks all over it. No bathrooms had locks on doors. The outside grass area had debris and rubbish on it like empty crisp packets. There were table tennis balls on the ground but no bats. The sunloungers were heavily stained, and there were dirty glasses on top of hot tub. This was an awful first impression after spending €3600 on this villa for a week!! We were not impressed. I tried to use the shower in the en-suite and it would not stay in the bracket so was spraying water at my feet and no where near my body. I tried to use it in my hand and directing it to my body which wasn’t working great either, I then got scalded as it suddenly went burning hot then stopped altogether. We decided to get out the villa as I honestly wanted to cry at this point. We walked to the advertised bars and restaurants that were nearby. They looked filthy, signs were all peeled away at edges and furniture old and stained. There is no way I would eat or drink in them. We walked further into Coral Bay which was much nicer but a long walk. This was advertised but we were disappointed we would have to walk this far every time due to the advertised nearby places being so awful. We returned to the villa later and went to bed, our daughter woke us to say the AC was leaking all over her bed. The AC that was running in other rooms was not great either leaving us all feeling hot. The next day we were all shattered and disappointed. We contacted Cyprus retreats who said they would send someone round to fix the shower and look at the AC, which they did but by this time we decided to try and find somewhere else to stay. Our breaks are vital and this villa was going to leave us really unhappy and not enjoy our holiday at all. They fixed the shower bracket however there was no promise this wasn’t going to scald me again or stop working mid shower and leave me covered in soap! When talking with Cyprus retreats they advised we would not get any refund whatsoever and were surprised at our feedback! They also claimed everything could have been fixed within a day. They claimed they ran the AC for an hour and half and no issue, I assured them there was when it woke my daughter! Yes they fixed the shower bracket and ran the AC, they could have brought the table tennis bats so they could have fixed those things but unless they were going to fully service the AC, replace the shower base, mirror, fit locks to bathrooms and fully clean the villa they could not fix it in a day! Not impressed at all with this company! The standard of villa for the price was not acceptable and the fact they did not offer any refund is awful. They would have completely ruined our holiday had we not spent additional money to book elsewhere which was a huge cost to ourselves.

We stayed at the villa in July 2026. The booking process was straightforward and the team at Cyprus Villa Retreats were excellent at communicating. Villa nice and clean. We have a couple of small issues that were dealt will immediately by the local team. The pool area at the Villa is amazing. We spent most of our time enjoying the pool which is a good size and very clean. We enjoyed our time at the property. Although lots of bars, restaurants and supermarkets are within walking distance I would recommend a car to enable you to explore. Paphos is around 20 - 25 minutes in a taxi and costs 60 euros return journey. The buses are good at 2 euros each way. Local taxis from the villa to Coral Bay strip are 15 euros each way but it is an easy walk.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely 3-bedroom villa and would highly recommend it. The location was perfect — within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach, which made everything so convenient during our stay. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were also extremely responsive and helpful whenever we had any questions. Unfortunately, we did have some issues with the hot tub during our stay, which meant we couldn’t use it for a couple of days. However, the hosts dealt with the problem quickly and came to empty and refill it mid-stay, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time and are already looking at dates to come back again in the future!

Really enjoyed our stay in Cyprus, just a few pointers on our visit. Stayed at Villa Acapulco Coral Bay Sept 25. We researched the villa location as this one said no car necessary, restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately this was not really the case, the Frog & Toad was down the road and further down Legends and a small supermarket. Hence only 4* To get to the strip of Coral Bay takes about 30 mins to walk and the road to get there is very dark with limited street lighting. There is no bus near by to catch to get to villa location. We got taxis back at night but in the end opted to hire a car. The nearest big supermarket was Philipos , which we walked to the first morning and wasn’t a good idea along a busy main road but they did a free taxi service with your shopping back to the villa. The villa itself was adequate, fully equipped, English tv channels with use of a Firestick. Pool was good but we had to contact CVR as the pool wasn’t very clean as the days went on. My husband suspected that the filters weren’t working, someone came next day and it soon cleared and kept clean. The en-suite shower is very tight for space but usable. Villa bath towels a bit small and well used and one each, same with pool towels but there’s a washing machine to use if need be. We heard no noise at night, no cars, shouting etc. The villa was in a good location for that. We used Roberts Taxis to and from airport and for a couple of nights to return from the strip, as mentioned in the villa handbook. Unfortunately we wouldn’t recommend them, there was no consistency with prices and the drivers were asking for more than I’d agreed with Robert. He was reliable and was there for everything I’d arranged with him and it could have been the drivers trying it on. I’d agreed €50 euros for 3 of us to go back to the airport and we always tip so when we asked driver how much he said €60! So we never tipped him! €12 to do a 5 minute journey from strip to villa that went down to €10 two nights later. Just up the road, literally, was the quads and buggy hire. They’d go out at 10am every morning. We decided to do a half day trip, it was brilliant. Our daughter had a quad and my husband and I had a buggy. Very bumpy once off road. They offer free goggles but the scarfs you need to buy €5, they are a must off road! Lunch was really tasty. We swam at Lara Beach, the only way to get there is by a quad or buggy. People were taking hire cars there and you are warned not to when hiring the cars. We’d hire again from CVR, we love Cyprus. We will be back!

Responsive and friendly host. Area is quiet and peaceful with not much traffic noise. Relatively remote area but this was not a problem for us as we had a hire car. Sadly the swimming pool is in desperate need of renovation.
