“Avakas Gorge” Nature Trail
Discover the “Avakas Gorge” Nature Trail when you come to Cyprus
A short car ride from Coral Bay towards Akamas you can find the Avakas Gorge Nature Trail. We took a hike in mid-April and took in what the Spring is like here, witnessing nature in bloom.
Go at your own pace
It takes approximately 1,5 hours at a very easy tempo. If you want to experience the trail but are worried about how young children will cope, then don’t. We took our 5 year old too, who loved every minute of it!
After the hike, go for lunch at ‘The Last Castle’. Simple yet tasty, traditional Cypriot BBQ. Enjoy the spectacular view in the relaxing shade.
Nature Calls!
As you arrive you can park at the bottom of the trail (very close to the ‘The Last Castle’ restaurant), and you can start your little hike. It is an absolutely lovely way to spend some time in nature. Amazing views, the calming sound of the little river, and fresh air.
If you are planning to hike the Avakas Gorge Nature Trail, it is important to be well-prepared. Here are a few tips:
