Konnos Bay: The Cove Between the Resorts
Konnos Bay marks the point where Protaras ends and the Cape Greco headland begins, and it belongs to neither resort so much as to the coastline itself. The bay is a deep, protected horseshoe of turquoise water backed by pine covered slopes inside the national forest park, reached by a winding road down from the clifftop. Locals from Paralimni and Ayia Napa have treated it as their weekend beach for generations, which tells you most of what you need to know.
The Swimming
The water here is the clearest on a coast already famous for clarity, and the bay's shape keeps it flat when other beaches catch the wind. Snorkelling along the rocky edges is the best in the area, kayaks and paddleboards launch from the sand in season, and a beach canteen covers drinks and lunch through the summer. Evenings up on the headland are their own attraction. The pines hold the day's warmth, the lights of Protaras trace the coast to the north, and dinner is either on your terrace or a short drive to the tavernas at either end of the park. In May and October, when the beaches empty early, you can walk down for a swim and have the entire bay to yourself before breakfast.
Who It Suits
Couples and scenery led travellers get the most from Konnos. Staying up on the headland means waking to sea views, walking straight onto the Cape Greco trails, and having both resorts within reach: Fig Tree Bay and the Protaras strip are ten minutes north, Ayia Napa's centre fifteen minutes west. A car is genuinely useful here, as the hill back up from the bay is a workout and the nearest supermarkets sit along the road towards Protaras. Families who need shops at walking distance will find Pernera more practical.
Villas at Konnos Bay
Villas on this headland are scarce, and we list only a small, carefully chosen number, led by the three bedroom sister villas Quinn and Taylor, each sleeping seven. What this address gives you is position: elevated plots, generous terraces and the bay a few minutes below.
